Why foreigners are denied entry into Indonesia: Alasan Orang Asing ditolak Masuk wilayah Indonesia

Pasal 13 Undang-Undang Nomor 6 Tahun 2011 tentang Keimigrasian
Article 13, under the Indonesian Immigration Law No.6 of 2011

Section 1 (Ayat 1)

Pejabat Imigrasi menolak Orang Asing masuk Wilayah Indonesia dalam hal orang asing tersebut: Immigration officers shall refuse Foreigners to enter the Indonesian territory under following circumstances:

    • namanya tercantum dalam daftar Penangkalan; their names included in the Entry Ban list;
    • tidak memiliki Dokumen Perjalanan yang sah dan berlaku; not in possession of lawful and valid travel documents;
    • memiliki dokumen Keimigrasian yang palsu; in possession of false Immigration documents;
    • tidak memiliki Visa, kecuali yang dibebaskan dari kewajiban memiliki Visa; not in possession of Visa, unless those who are exempted from obtaining a visa;
    • telah memberi keterangan yang tidak benar dalam memperoleh Visa; false or misleading statement in applying for a visa;
    • menderita penyakit menular yang membahayakan kesehatan umum; suffering from a contagious or infectious disease which results any danger to public health;
    • terlibat kejahatan internasional dan tindak pidana transnasional yang terorganisasi; involved in international crime and transnational organized crime; 
    • termasuk dalam daftar pencarian orang untuk ditangkap dari suatu negara asing; included in a wanted person list that one country shall arrest them;
    • terlibat dalam kegiatan makar terhadap Pemerintah Republik Indonesia; atau, involved in an assault against the government of Republic of Indonesia;
    • termasuk dalam jaringan praktik atau kegiatan prostitusi, perdagangan orang, dan penyelundupan manusia. affiliated with any organisations relating with prostitutions, human trafficking and people smuggling.

Note: If you have a completely full passport or passport page is full of stamps or visa labels, you might be refused entry into Indonesia.
(2) If your passport’s validity is less than 6 (six) months before its expiry date, you are not allowed to enter Indonesia (refused entry).

Section 2 (Ayat 2)

Orang Asing yang ditolak masuk sebagaimana dimaksud pada ayat (1) ditempatkan dalam pengawasan sementara menunggu proses pemulangan yang bersangkutan. Denied entry Foreigners as described under section (1) are held under a temporary supervision while waiting for the process of deportation.
